Kim Beebe-Wells
Kim grew up in Louisiana and was saved at age 3 sitting on her mom’s lap in a
small church pastored by her father. She felt her first call to missions at about age 8,
got baptized in water about age 9, and received Holy Spirit baptism at age 11 while
she was at kid’s camp. At this same time, the Lord spoke to her very clearly about
singing for Him.
After graduating from Patterson High School, Kim went to Central Bible College in
Springfield, Missouri, where she earned a B.A. in music. She double-majored in
vocal performance and choral directing, while she double-minored in piano and
Bible.
When the country of Albania first opened, Kim served in the Gjerasim Qiriazi
International School in the capitol city of Tiranë as the music director and also taught
second and third grades. While in Albania, she was invited to sing in televised
programs and concerts. She is the only non-Albanian to ever participate in the
National Spring Festival. This song, Sa kërkoj, composed by Adrian Hila, was
recorded and played on Albanian radio and on Albanian TV as a music video.
Upon returning to the United States, Kim served as music pastor at Evangel Temple
Assembly of God for 3 years. During this time, she committed to sponsor an
Albanian family that won the U.S. Green Card Lottery. She has maintained a close
relationship with this family, which gained special attention internationally when the
oldest son, Ervin Dervishi, who had joined the U.S. Army, was killed in Iraq. Because
of this situation, her association with the Dervishi family has opened additional
doors of ministry opportunity among Albanian people.
In 2003, Kim earned an additional B.A. in music education, and certified to teach pre-
K through 12th grade music. She has taught in the public school system for 5 years
teaching both elementary music and middle school choir. She has also taught
private music instruction and seminars at worship conferences.
During the summer of 2008, Kim went on an adventure vacation to Peru that turned
into a missions trip within 24 hours of reaching the city of Iquitos, located in the
Amazon. That first week she sang in church, shared in prayer meetings and sang at
a funeral, then got invited to return to Peru to sing a month of concerts in an
evangelistic outreach sponsored by Iglesia Alianza Cristiana y Misionera. In a return
visit to Iquitos that same month, she was invited by the pastor to sing in a special
televised service.
When she returned from her vacation, Kim felt that she was called to return to Iquitos
to live and provide musical ministry. Pastor Silva requested that she serve as a
missionary to their community and work in his church as the music director. In
January 2009, Kim returned to Iquitos, Peru, to minister in music at a pastoral
leadership conference hosted by IACM. Kim returned to Iquitos in January of 2010
for an extended period of time.
